COLD SPRING & GARRISON, NY
Cold Spring, NY is a true river village in the heart of the Hudson Highlands, just across the water from the majestic West Point and Storm King Mountain. Cruising scenic 9D (one of our favorite Sunday drives in any season) or stepping off the train at Cold Spring Station and finding yourself on Main Street is like arriving on a movie set. You’ll find unique shops filled with heirlooms and antiques, modern crafts and more, but the real treasure is found in the woods and on the water. Spend the day outdoors: get high above the river in the first 15 minutes as you rock scramble Breakneck Ridge, or pack a picnic from the Cold Spring General Store and take sunset stroll at Bull Hill. This area has long been a favorite of city day-trippers to Hudson Valley locals alike.
Spring through Fall, you’ll find there is nearly always something going on in Cold Spring, so stay connected. Cold Spring’s independent homegrown newspaper, Phillipstown.info, offers an interactive map and the new Chamber of Commerce site is great for exploring local businesses and upcoming events, etc. Check out our Compass Picks for your next weekend getaway to Cold Spring.
